1) Is the LineLok easy to install?
Yes, LineLok is installed by simply removing your current telephone wallplate and disconnecting the 2 wires. Reconnect the 2 wires (polarity does not matter) and secure the device to the wall. The tamper resistant plate is then secured to the LineLok with 2 tamper resistant screws (supplied with each device).
2) How difficult is it to program the LineLok?
The LineLok is programmed using your telephone keypad. In about 15 minutes it can be completely programmed. For ease, we also include 4 pre-programmed standard cycles.
3) How is the LineLok powered?
The LineLok is powered by 2 AAA Alkaline batteries. These batteries under normal use should last between 6 months and 1 year.
4) What happens if the batteries go dead?
If the batteries are not replaced, the telephone will return to normal use without the timer or phone blocks.
5) Do I need to re-porgram the timer after replacing the batteries?
No, after replacing the batteries all that needs to be reset is the time and day.
6) What if I want to turn the Timer off.
All you have to do is pick up the extension that the LineLok is installed on and enter your 4 digit password followed by 11. This gives full access to the telephone. The LCD display will display "ON"
To Turn the telephone completely off, enter your 4 digit password followed by 10. This completely turns off telephone access except for 911 and emergency numbers. The LCD will display "OFF"
To place the telephone back into Auto Mode, press your 4 digit password followed by 12. The timer will now control telephone access. The LCD will display a hourglass.
7) Can't my kids just take out the LineLok and connect the telephone back up?
Although nothing is full proof, the LineLok is made of a Stainless Steel Plate and secured with Tamper Resisitant screws. A special screwdriver (supplied with the LineLok) is needed to remove the unit.
8) I have 2 teens each with their own room. Can the LineLok control both phones.
Each extension needs to have its own LineLok. Each teenager can have their own times set.
